Blogging Tips–Send Us Yours!!

Since our blog is new and we’re all about best practices, how about sharing yours on how to be a better blogger???

Here’s a few items we’re working on from the back end of the QBS blog:

  • Adding pictures (the site is having “issues” right now with pics)–pics add a lot of “curb appeal” to your posts and a good visual is worth a 1,000 words!  If you’re new to WordPress, hover over the icons to the right of Upload/Insert when you write you blog.  The first one is for pics.  Click on it and it will walk you through adding a pic.  Go ahead and experiment until it’s how you want it to look (Hint:  save a draft first, then click on Preview in the Publish box on the right side of the post screen to see how it will look before publishing it)
  • Adding your signature–a plug-in will be added shortly so you can take credit for your great writing and others will know where to find you for more info.
  • Don’t forget to pick a category (or two) that apply and add TAGS so the search engines can find your article in relevant searches.  You want to get your message out, so give yourself an edge.  On the WordPress screen when writing the article, go to Post Tags on the the right and add 3-5 keywords that define your information.  You can also choose from previously-added tags.  If you haven’t done so in posts online already, no problem–just go back and edit your article.

What do you do to brand yourself when blogging?

If you’re not a blogger [yet], but want to join in, what questions do you have?  Post comments to this article and if someone still needs more info, send me an email and we’ll find you an expert!
