QBS Kenosha meets the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. 9am to 11am

QBS Grayslake meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. 2pm to 4pm

However – there is a change to the Grayslake schedule for August and September. Since August had a 5th Monday and the 1st Monday in September is Labor Day – there will be a meeting on August 30th rather than September 6.

Please put these dates on your calendar. There will be an online calendar on the website soon.

 The one way to get the most bang for your buck is to go back to the rule that if it takes more than 5 minutes to write the e mail you should pick up the phone and call or…God Forbid…get out of your office and go talk with that person face-to-face.  Not only will you save time, you will enhance your visibility as you walk to where that person is located.  You have just killed two birds with one stone…saved time and enhanced your visibility. But more importantly, you will be building a better rapport when you do it face-to-face.  Besides…it’s a heck of a lot more enjoyable!

 The other key benefit as a leader is that you have an opportunity to use your people skills.  I make no bones about it when conducting my leadership training…I am seeing people skills starting to deteriorate as we rely too heavily on “electronic” communication.  If you start to lose those skills, your value as a leader drops.  If you are a young leader this is even MORE important for you because many of your peers have NO PEOPLE SKILLS because many people in the younger generations of leaders are not practicing them as much as in “the day.”  Want to stand out compared to your peers as a leader? BE GOOD AT BOTH COMMUNICATING FACE-TO-FACE AS WELL AS ELECTRONICALLY!

 Remember…practice makes perfect!  Today…before sending off  that lengthy e mail..get off your butt and walk down the hall to talk with the person instead of firing off that e mail.  If you do…you will be more productive, build a better rapport with people, enhance your visibility and…perhaps most important…have a more ENJOYABLE time when you get face-to face with people.

For years a constant stream of conventional financial wisdom has bombarded investors without much new information being offered. We all have to agree that “different is not always better, but better is always different”. And once in a while a revolutionary approach comes along that changes how we think about our personal finances. I added an ebook below as a gift. I will address several of the main topics mentioned “Baby Boomer Blunders” in the workshop.

The workshop will be on Wednesday the 18th at 5:30PM in the Mundelein Community Connection meeting facility at 469 N. Mario Feijoo (co-founder of QBS), Scott Fleischmann, and myself (Karin Robison) met with Tim Dollmeyer (Action Business Coach), Jeff Cortez (Human Asset Management), Tony Aiello (Aiello Business Consulting), Aja Aviles and Lynne Neumann (Arvasi Life Spa), and Robin Lapins (Robin Plous Lapins Public Relations).

We finally had to leave for other appointments after a 2+ hour lively conversation about how networking in Kenosha and Lake Counties could help us all help each other, and where we want to go from here.

QBS Kenosha will be meeting again next Friday, 12/18 (9am), at Arvasi Life Spa courtesy of our new connections, Aja and Lynne, so if anyone is interested in joining us, please send me an email!
